World of Warcraft: Forever returns to original Azeroth with expanded regions, reworked classes and its own progression systems. This overview covers Blizzard’s announcements as of October 17, 2026, ahead of the November 4 launch.

Azeroth is the focus

Forever builds outward from the world’s first age. Blizzard has announced new quests and dungeons alongside new areas, including Riverglades, Mount Hyjal and Zephras Isle. Expect an expanding world rather than a route through the campaigns of other WoW editions.

What changes for your character

Classes and specializations are being revised. Camping gives professions a place in shared outdoor stops, while Legacy progression rewards activity across your account. These systems need their own guides: an old talent build or profession shopping list does not establish what works in Forever.

Access and dates

Blizzard lists November 4, 2026 as launch day. Normal access requires an active WoW subscription or game time. The announced beta runs through October 21; beta access and launch access are separate arrangements. The Skyborne race and Zephras Isle starting experience require a qualifying paid pack. Check the official product page before buying.
