RestedXP is the most complete paid leveling guide for World of Warcraft: Forever at launch, and for most players leveling a first character it is worth the $27 (one faction) or $40.50 (both factions) it costs through our link Affiliate link. It turns leveling into an ordered route inside the game, with an arrow to every next step, built by speedrunners and patched almost daily during the beta. The honest catch: only levels 1–35 have finished Forever routes today. Levels 35–60 run on RestedXP's older Classic Era routes until the Forever versions arrive after launch, Discovery mode and the Legacy Guide are still being built. The Dungeon Leveling Guide, in development when we first published this review, went live on 17 October and was restructured on 3 November: its dungeon list now runs through Blackrock Depths, with more dungeons after launch.

Scope: this review is based on RestedXP's shop, roadmap and community updates, the addon's public source code and release notes, creator footage from the beta, and the pages of every competing tool, checked on 2 November 2026. List prices were re-checked on RestedXP's shop on 2 November 2026; the 10% link discount was last confirmed in the cart on 26 October 2026. We have not timed a full 1–60 run with any of these tools, because the live game opens on 4 November.

RestedXP review: the verdict at a glance

What we judgedOur ratingWhy
Route quality (1–35)ExcellentSpeedrunner-built quest order with travel, training and hearthstone steps; Forever-specific quests and boats already included
Forever coverage (35–60)IncompleteClassic Era routes fill 35–60 until the Forever versions release after launch
In-game experienceExcellentStep window, arrow, map pins, quest automation and targeting in one addon
MaintenanceExcellentSeveral addon releases a week during the beta, with Forever fixes in each, and a major route update on 3 November, the day before launch
Dungeons, Discovery, LegacyPartly doneDungeon Leveling Guide live since 17 October and restructured on 3 November (through Blackrock Depths, more after launch); Discovery and Legacy planned for after launch
ValueGoodOne payment covers all future Forever updates; free tools cover part of the same ground

Bottom line: buy it if you want to level quickly without planning, especially on a first character or a run of alts. Skip it, or start with the free routes, if you enjoy exploring every new quest or you already plan your own route.

What RestedXP is

RestedXP is two things that are easy to confuse. The RestedXP Guides addon is free on CurseForge and does the in-game work: the step window, the arrow, the map pins and the automation. The guides are the route content the addon plays. A few starter routes ship with the addon for free; the full routes for each game version are sold on RestedXP's shop and imported into the addon after purchase.

The guides are written by a team of World of Warcraft speedrunners. RestedXP presents its routes as speedrunner-made and claims more than 500,000 players. Those are the publisher's claims, but there is outside evidence for the speedrunning pedigree: in November 2021, Wowhead reported that the world-first level 60 in Classic Season of Mastery was reached on a solo Hunter following the RestedXP guide, by a player who helps write it.

A short history. RestedXP's public guide repository dates from April 2021. By late 2021 the addon was free and open source for Burning Crusade Classic, Season of Mastery and Classic Era, shipping default speed-leveling routes for 1–30 in TBC and 1–20 in Era. RestedXP then added Hardcore guides with dangerous-mob warnings, Season of Discovery rune steps, Mists of Pandaria Classic and Retail guides. Its Hardcore Era Survival guide costs $25 per faction or $35 for both, and the All Hardcore Survival & Speedrun bundle (Season of Discovery and Classic Era) $50, according to RestedXP's store Affiliate link. Forever is the newest product, sold separately from all of these.

What it is not. RestedXP is not a quest database like Questie, and it is not a general all-in-one addon. It does one job: tell you exactly what to do next to level as fast as possible.

What's in the RestedXP Forever package

The Forever product is sold as one Forever Leveling Guide per faction, or both together. RestedXP says the package bundles two guide experiences, with a Discovery feature inside them, and that every later route and feature is included. Here is the state of each part on 2 November 2026, two days before launch.

Two details matter here. First, the 35–60 gap is real but bridged: you will not run out of route at 35, you will switch to Classic Era routes that do not know about Forever's new quests and zones such as the Riverglades and Mount Hyjal. Second, RestedXP's shop states plainly that the product "is being created alongside the release and is not yet fully complete." You are buying into a guide that is still being finished, and you should price that in.

Forever Leveling Guide – Alliance$30$27
Forever Leveling Guide – Horde$30$27

It is a one-time payment with no subscription, and RestedXP says ongoing updates through launch and beyond are included. The 10% discount applies automatically in the cart when you open the shop through our link Affiliate link; there is no code to type. Our RestedXP discount guide shows the cart step by step.

One faction or both? Both Factions costs $15 more than a single faction ($13.50 more through our link). Take it if you plan an alt on the other side, if your friends have not settled on a faction yet, or if you might reroll after launch week.

The free starter routes are the best way to judge RestedXP before paying: the addon's Forever guide list bundles routes from every starting zone up to Alliance 11–20 and Horde 12–22 in the Barrens. How RestedXP works in game

The core loop is simple: the route window shows your current step at the top, the arrow points to where that step happens, and the step completes by itself when the game confirms it. Accept a quest, kill the mobs, loot the item or hand in the quest, and the next step appears.

Below is what the addon actually offers. We list only features that appear in RestedXP's own descriptions or the settings panel in its public source code. Where a feature is general to the addon and Forever-specific tuning is still planned, we say so.

FeatureWhat it doesIn Forever
Route windowEvery pickup, objective, turn-in, trainer visit and hearthstone step in order, with the current step highlightedYes
Waypoint arrowA customizable arrow toward the current objective, plus world map and minimap pinsYes
Quest auto accept/turn-inAccepts and hands in route quests for you; can be switched offYes (setting in the addon)
Quest reward recommendationSuggests which quest reward to take, with optional automationAddon setting; Forever tuning not separately confirmed
Flight path, innkeeper bind and hearthstone automationTakes flights, sets your hearthstone and batches hearthstone use where the route plans itAddon settings; route steps for travel and hearthstones are part of the Forever Speedrun Guide
Targeting macro and markersA macro that targets and marks the NPCs and mobs the step needs, plus rare and dangerous-mob scansAddon setting
Leveling tracker and level splitsTime per level and total time, like a speedrun split timerAddon setting
Talent guides and item upgradesIn-route talent suggestions and an item-upgrade comparisonModules exist in the addon; RestedXP lists an Enhanced Talent Builder and Upgrade Finder tuned for Forever as planned
Group featuresGroup quests on request, automatic quest sharing, a shared active step (beta), a follow-party-leader macro (RestedXP's multibox mode is retail-only, not Forever)Addon settings; Forever group quests appear when Show Group Quests is enabled
Inventory managerAuto-sells junk at vendorsAddon setting

A few things stand out in practice. The automation is what separates RestedXP from a quest map: with auto accept and turn-in on, you mostly move, fight and loot, and the addon clicks through the dialogs. The routing goes beyond quest order: training stops, hearthstone timing and Auction House steps for consumables that speed up turn-ins are written into the route. And the step window is honest about what it wants: when a route needs you to grind a few mobs to reach a level, it says so.

Group quests are opt-in. Some of the new Forever quests in RestedXP's routes only appear when you enable Show Group Quests under Guide Routing. If you level solo, leave it off; in a duo or a group, turn it on.

One caveat from the beta: RestedXP temporarily disabled its guide configurator for Forever in the 10 October release (v4.11.23). For the Dungeon Guide, RestedXP now says to choose optional dungeons under Options > AddOns > RestedXP Guides > Guide Routing > Dungeons, with a dedicated configurator "coming later on". Check the addon's settings rather than relying on older tutorials. The release notes also show how active development is: v4.11.28 on 28 October shipped dungeon guide fixes, Redridge updates and a fix for steps that broke automation, and v4.11.29 followed the next day with a fix to the automatic training order.

3 November update. The day before launch, RestedXP's major Forever update restructured the Dungeon Guide into mandatory, optional and upcoming dungeons per faction, adjusted both factions' routes to the 40-quest log limit, added graveyard-teleport steps between dungeons, reworked Alliance Night Elf and Hunter routing, and fixed many quest steps. If you already own the guide, purge, reload and re-import the new guide string (how).

Guides in your language. RestedXP announced on 3 November that its Forever guides can now be downloaded in German, French, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese and Simplified Chinese as well as English; the v4.11.30 release notes list translations for those five languages. RestedXP's video shows how to download a guide in your language.

Setting up RestedXP for Forever

Setup takes about five minutes. In short:

  1. Install the free RestedXP Guide addon for the Forever game version, for example through CurseForge. Our addon installation guide covers picking the Forever client.
  2. Buy the Forever guide for your faction (or both) on RestedXP's shop.
  3. Follow RestedXP's steps to link your Battle.net account to your purchase and import the guide into the addon.
  4. Log in, open the RestedXP window and pick the chapter for your race and starting zone.

Our RestedXP setup guide walks through the first route screen by screen. If your purchased guide does not show up, the missing guides and import fixes page covers the account and import checks. If you also run Questie, see our RestedXP vs Questie guide for the settings that stop the two addons duplicating map pins and party messages; RestedXP even has an Ignore Questie announcements option for exactly that.

Pros and cons of RestedXP in WoW Forever

ProsCons
The most complete ordered route for Forever at launch, with finished 1–35 Forever routesForever routes stop at 35 for now; 35–60 uses Classic Era routes that miss Forever's new zones
Built and tested by speedrunners, including travel, training and hearthstone timingDiscovery and Legacy features are not out yet; more Dungeon Guide dungeons arrive after launch
Very actively maintained: several releases a week during the betaPaid, while Questie, Wowdee, 4Ever Leveling and Guidelime are free
One payment includes all future Forever updatesA speed route skips slow quests and much of the new story
Strong automation and group tools in one addonSome features (talent builder, upgrade finder) are still general rather than tuned for Forever
Free starter routes let you try it first; 10% off through our linkPaid route content tied to a free addon is a model Blizzard has not commented on for Forever

On that last point: Blizzard's add-on policy requires add-ons themselves to be free. RestedXP, like Zygor and other paid guides, keeps the addon free and sells the route content separately. As Bind on Forever notes, Blizzard has not issued a Forever-specific ruling, and forum threads asking about it have no staff reply. We found no confirmed report of a player banned for using RestedXP as of 2 November 2026, but that is not a guarantee; our is RestedXP allowed? page has the details.

RestedXP vs Questie, Wowdee, 4Ever Leveling, Zygor and Guidelime

Every serious alternative in Forever falls into one of three groups: a quest map (Questie), a free route addon (Wowdee, 4Ever Leveling, Guidelime) or another paid guide (Zygor). Here is how they compare on 2 November 2026.

GuidelimeFree (engine) plus free guide packsDepends on the pack: TUGs (both factions) and Sage (Alliance) have Forever routes; requires Questie on ForeverAuto accept/turn-in for current stepsForever build updated 31 OctoberTinkerers who like community guide packs

RestedXP vs Questie. These are not really competitors. Questie shows where quests are; RestedXP decides which ones, in which order. Many players run both. If you only want quest markers, Questie is free and excellent. Our RestedXP vs Questie comparison goes deeper.

RestedXP vs Wowdee. Wowdee's free 1–60 guide is the strongest free challenger: a full chapter list for both factions to 60, inside a broader addon with a talent planner and quest and dungeon journals. It is an alpha, and Wowdee itself says levels are a plan and you may need extra XP at checkpoints. RestedXP's 1–35 routes are more speed-focused and better tested; Wowdee wins on price and on having a Forever-aware chapter list above 35.

RestedXP vs 4Ever Leveling. 4Ever Leveling is free and ambitious: routes, a dungeon atlas, BiS suggestions and a campfire-buff catalogue in 11 languages. Its own page says its routes are Classic 1–60 routes adapted to Forever, that new race/class and Skyborne routes are still in development, and that some locations are provisional. It is a solid free option; it is not as polished or as speed-tested as RestedXP's 1–35.

RestedXP vs Zygor. Zygor's Forever guides come with its Elite subscription, which also covers every other WoW version. At launch they cover 1–30 with new Forever routes, a Skyborne 1–12 starter and four new dungeon guides, then Classic routes from 31. Zygor's join page lists Elite at $15 a month or $40 a quarter (checked 2 November 2026). If you already subscribe, use it. If you are buying only for Forever leveling, two months of Elite costs what one RestedXP faction costs once, and RestedXP's finished Forever coverage goes five levels further. Our RestedXP vs Zygor comparison goes into detail.

RestedXP vs Guidelime. Guidelime is a free guide engine with an editor; the routes come from community packs. On Forever it needs Questie installed. It suits players who like to tinker; it asks more of you than RestedXP.

Our best WoW Forever addons roundup covers the wider addon setup around any of these.

How to use RestedXP effectively in WoW Forever

A route is only as fast as the way you follow it. These habits get the most out of RestedXP in Forever specifically.

Pick a class and stick with the route's assumptions. RestedXP's routes are filtered by race and class, including class quests and trainer stops. Rerolling mid-zone or skipping trainer steps breaks that. If you have not chosen yet, our best leveling class guide ranks every class for solo speed.

Bank rested XP every time you stop. Rested XP doubles kill XP until it runs out. You build it in inns and capital cities, including while logged out, so follow the route's hearthstone steps and log out where you have rested. In Forever, the Legacy perk Well Rested increases both the rate and the cap, and the Talented perk (five ranks) builds on it once you have Well Rested and five Adventure points. Our fastest way to level guide has the numbers.

Use dungeons the way the route plans them. Blizzard changed dungeon XP twice in the beta: on 1 October, dungeon quests lost 50% of their extra experience beyond normal quest values; on 8 October, dungeon kill XP went up by about 20%, and party XP is now based on each player's own level, with no XP if a member is vastly higher. The upshot: run a dungeon when you carry its quests and your group is close in level, then return to the route. RestedXP's Dungeon Leveling Guide, live for 1–30 since 17 October, plans those runs for you; on the Speedrun Guide, treat dungeons as optional detours. See our RestedXP Dungeon Guide page. Our WoW Forever leveling guide lists every dungeon with its level range.

Plan alts around Legacy. Forever's account-wide Legacy system rewards leveling more characters, and the Adventure perks make each alt faster. This is where a paid route pays off most: the second and third character follow the same route without you replanning anything. If your alts will be on the other faction, Both Factions is the better buy.

Duo with the group settings on. In a duo, enable Show Group Quests, turn on quest sharing and the shared active step, and let one player lead. Stay close in level: with Forever's party XP rules, a large level gap costs the lower player XP.

Know when to deviate. Leave the route when it costs you more than it saves: a group forming for an elite quest the route skips, a dungeon run with friends, a Legacy goal you care about, or the new zones above 35 that the Classic Era routes do not cover yet. When you come back, pick the chapter for your level and zone, and the route continues. After 35, it is worth glancing at our level-by-level zone order to see where Forever's new areas such as the Riverglades fit.

Playing Skyborne? RestedXP's Zephras Isle route covers 1–12 for Horde and 1–14 for Alliance before moving you to the mainland. Our Skyborne leveling guide explains the starting zone and both exits.

Final verdict

RestedXP is the best-prepared paid leveling guide for WoW Forever on launch day. Its finished 1–35 Forever routes already include the new quests, boats, race/class combinations and the Skyborne start, the addon is mature and well automated, and the team has shipped fixes almost every few days through the beta. The weaknesses are about timing rather than quality: 35–60 runs on Classic Era routes for now, and the Discovery and Legacy features are still to come; more Dungeon Guide dungeons arrive after launch. Since those updates are included in the price, buying now mainly means paying for something that will keep getting better.

If you want to hit 60 quickly and never alt-tab to a website, it is worth it. If you want to discover Forever at your own pace, the free tools will serve you well, and you can always come back to RestedXP for your alts.

Frequently asked questions

Is RestedXP good for WoW Forever?

Yes. It has finished Forever routes for levels 1–35, including the Skyborne starting zone and the new race and class combinations, and it was updated several times a week during the beta. Levels 35–60 use Classic Era routes until the Forever versions arrive after launch.

How much does RestedXP cost for WoW Forever?

$30 for one faction or $45 for both, as a one-time payment with future Forever updates included. Through our link, 10% comes off automatically in the cart: $27 or $40.50.

Is RestedXP free?

The addon and its Forever routes for levels 1–20 are free; the bundled chapters end at 20–21 for Alliance and 22 for Horde. The full Forever leveling guide is paid.

Is RestedXP better than Questie?

They do different jobs. Questie shows quests on your map for free; RestedXP tells you which quests to do and in what order, with automation. Many players run both together.

Is RestedXP better than Zygor for WoW Forever?

For Forever leveling at launch, RestedXP has the longer finished Forever coverage (1–35 versus Zygor's 1–30) and is a one-time payment. Zygor makes more sense if you already pay for Zygor Elite.

Does RestedXP cover levels 35–60 in Forever?

Yes, but with Classic Era routes for now. RestedXP releases its Forever 35–60 routes after launch, and those updates are included in the price.

Does RestedXP have a dungeon leveling guide for Forever?

Yes. RestedXP released the Forever Dungeon Leveling Guide on 17 October 2026, for both factions. RestedXP restructured it on 3 November: its dungeon list now runs through Blackrock Depths, and more dungeons follow after launch.

Can I use RestedXP with a friend?

Yes. Enable Show Group Quests, quest sharing and the shared active step, and stay close in level, because Forever bases party XP on each player's own level.

Is RestedXP worth it for a casual player?

Yes, if you want to level without looking things up. The route makes every quest decision for you, so you can play in short sessions and pick up exactly where you stopped. If you enjoy discovering quests yourself, the free Questie addon is the better fit.

Does RestedXP make leveling faster in Forever?

RestedXP builds its Speedrun Guide for pace: an optimized quest order, travel, class training and hearthstone use. How much time you save depends on how you would otherwise play.

Is RestedXP worth it before levels 35–60 are released?

Yes, if you start at launch. The Forever 1–35 routes are finished, the Era routes cover 35–60 until the Forever versions arrive, and those updates are included with the guide.
