For most WoW Forever players who only want to level, RestedXP is the cheaper and more finished choice today. Zygor makes more sense if you already pay for Zygor Elite or want one subscription that also covers Retail and Classic. RestedXP's Forever guide is a one-time $30 per faction or $45 for both, with Forever routes for 1–35 and a live Dungeon Guide for 1–30. Zygor's Forever guides come with Zygor Elite at $15 a month or $40 a quarter: new routes for 1–30 at launch, Classic guides for 31–60 while its Forever 30–60 update is "coming soon".

Price: one-time vs subscription

This is the biggest practical difference. RestedXP sells the Forever guide once. Zygor sells access: as long as you pay for Elite, you get every guide it publishes, across all versions.

6 months$30 · $45$80

Zygor: $15 monthly or $40 per quarter, cheapest combination. RestedXP: Forever guide, updates included; $27 or $40.50 through our link Affiliate link.

What you pay depends on how long you level:

  • One character, one month. Zygor monthly costs $15; RestedXP costs $30 for one faction. Zygor is cheaper if you finish inside a month and cancel.
  • Three months. Zygor quarterly is $40; RestedXP is $30 for one faction or $45 for both. Roughly even.
  • Alts and a long season. Six months of Zygor is $80 (two quarters) and a year is $160. RestedXP stays at $30 or $45, and its updates are included, so alts over the next year cost nothing extra.

The other side: Zygor Elite also unlocks Zygor's Retail and Classic guides, which RestedXP's Forever purchase does not. If you level in more than one version of WoW, the subscription covers more.

Route coverage for WoW Forever

Both companies are still building Forever-specific routes for the second half of 1–60, and both use their Classic routes as a bridge.

RestedXP. The Speedrun Guide has finished Forever routes for 1–35 for both factions, written during the beta. Forever routes for 35–60 follow after the 4 November launch; until then the guide hands over to RestedXP's Era routes, which were not written for Forever's new zones and quests. The free routes cover 1–20.

Zygor. Its launch post lists new and updated 1–30 Forever leveling guides, a new 1–12 Skyborne guide for Zephras Isle and race and class updates. For 30 and up, it uses Classic 31–60 guides, with updated 30–60 Forever guides "coming soon". Its Forever page describes the content as partial 1–60 at launch.

So both cover levels beyond the Forever-specific part with older routes. RestedXP's Forever-specific part currently runs five levels further.

Dungeon leveling

RestedXP's Dungeon Leveling Guide went live on 17 October 2026 and is included with the Forever guide at no extra cost. It builds the route around dungeon runs with questing in between: for Horde, Ragefire Chasm, Ruins of Lordaeron, Wailing Caverns, Shadowfang Keep and Blackfathom Deeps; for Alliance, Hall of Thanes, Ruins of Lordaeron, the Deadmines, the Stockade and the Wetlands excavation dungeon. Details are on our RestedXP Dungeon Guide page.

Zygor's launch post lists four new dungeon guides at launch and its Forever page lists nine planned Forever dungeon guides, including Hall of Thanes, Ruins of Lordaeron and the City of Dalaran. Zygor describes these as dungeon walkthroughs, strategies and quest guides. We could not confirm whether Zygor plans a full leveling route built around dungeon runs, as RestedXP's is.

In the game

RestedXP shows a compact step window with the current step, an arrow to the next objective and optional automation that accepts and hands in route quests. It also tracks your level times against the guide's. You choose a Speedrun or Dungeon route and the guide skips steps you have already done. See how to install, import and use RestedXP.

Zygor uses its Guide Viewer window with step text, a travel system that plots routes across zones, and a Talent Advisor that suggests talents. Guides are kept up to date through the Zygor Client desktop app.

Both work alongside Questie in principle. RestedXP lists Leatrix Maps, TomTom, SilverDragon and TotemTimers as known conflicts with its waypoint arrow; we did not find a published conflict list for Zygor.

Refunds and accounts

RestedXP's terms license paid guides to one Battle.net account for personal use, and say refunds are generally not offered. A request within 30 days may be considered if you have not downloaded the guide, at RestedXP's discretion. That makes the free 1–20 routes the place to decide.

Zygor's FAQ describes monthly and quarterly plans that you can cancel at any time, and a free trial with samples from each guide version. We could not confirm whether the trial includes Forever samples.

Which should you pick?

Pick RestedXP if:

  • you only play WoW Forever, or level several characters there;
  • you want RestedXP's Dungeon Leveling Guide, restructured on 3 November: its dungeon list runs through Blackrock Depths, with more dungeons after launch;
  • you prefer to pay once instead of a subscription.

Pick Zygor if:

  • you already have Zygor Elite, so Forever costs you nothing extra;
  • you also level in Retail or Classic and want one subscription for all of it;
  • you will level one character within a month and then cancel.

Pick neither yet if you are not sure: RestedXP's free routes cover 1–20, and the free addons in our best leveling addon comparison cost nothing. For RestedXP's pricing in detail, see the RestedXP Forever price guide, and for the other main alternative, RestedXP vs Questie.
