Krol'dok Stronghold is WoW Forever's new ogre dungeon for levels 40–45, in the new Riverglades zone. Blizzard's dungeon overview describes ogre outrunners "kidnapping travelers and ransacking communities throughout the Riverglades". Their trail leads to "a sprawling fortress filled with workshops, encampments, and guarded interior passages". Blizzard also mentions "strange chanting heard from the stronghold after nightfall". This guide covers where the entrance is, how each faction gets there, the boss we know about, and what is still encrypted (checked 4 November 2026).

Where is the Krol'dok Stronghold entrance?

The fortress sits on a hill on the north side of the Riverglades, overlooking Sunnyglade. Warcraft Tavern puts the way in at a cave "tucked away to the west of the large fortress gates" at 37.5, 37.5. Bind on Forever notes that the game files don't place the entrance yet. If the cave isn't there on launch day, look along the fortress walls.

Horde: Rog'mar is the closest flight path, at 59.6, 45.1 per WoW Forever DB. It links to Kargath, Stonard, Hammerfall and Flame Crest. Head west from Rog'mar to reach the fortress.

Alliance: Farholde Keep (60.6, 81.6) is in the south of the zone, with flights to Lakeshire, Thelsamar and Morgan's Vigil. It's a longer ride north to Krol'dok.

Both factions: you have to find each flight master on foot first. You can also take the neutral boat from Steamwheedle Port in Tanaris to Powderfuse Port. Our Riverglades guide covers every route in.

What we know about the inside

Warcraft Tavern describes the instance from the files as "a large instance that follows a winding path between crude buildings, gradually going uphill", ending at a large wooden bridge that leads to the biggest buildings at the top. That matches Blizzard's "workshops, encampments, and guarded interior passages".

Bosses. Only Overlord Mugg is known, because the Legacy challenge names him. The full boss list is encrypted.

Faction. Bind on Forever found the Bolder'ok Clan ogre faction in the files, and the client lists the area Bolder'ok next to Krol'dok Stronghold at level 42. Expect the zone's ogre quests to lead here.

Datamined items (unconfirmed until launch): two "Krol'dok Moulding" items that seem to start quests, plus a Krol'dok Compound Key and a Krol'dok Ogre Key. Keys suggest locked areas or a side route, but nobody has seen how they are used.

Krol'dok Stronghold quests

No quests had been published by 4 November 2026. The beta was capped at level 30, so testers never reached the Riverglades. Look out for the ogre storyline around Bolder'ok and for any Krol'dok Moulding drops while you quest in the zone. Our dungeon quests guide explains why it pays to bring every quest into one run. We'll add the list once players reach the dungeon.

When to run Krol'dok Stronghold

Blizzard's range is 40–45, so run it after the Riverglades' level 38–41 areas, at the point the zone's Twilight areas (41–44) start to feel slow. Other dungeons in that band, with the in-game Group Finder levels Bind on Forever lists: Scarlet Monastery (30–46), Razorfen Downs (37–46) and Uldaman (41–51). The Drowned City (35–40) comes before it. Alcaz Prison (48–53) is the next new dungeon after it.

Krol'dok also counts toward Experienced Spelunker, one of the dungeon challenges in the Legacy system. One clear earns progress toward an account-wide point, which is worth having even if the run's XP turns out average.

Where RestedXP fits

A dungeon at the top of a level range only works if you get there on time. RestedXP's Forever routes cover the questing between runs, and its Dungeon Leveling Guide slots dungeons into the route. RestedXP has said its 35–60 routes come after launch, and it hasn't said when the new high-level dungeons will be added. Our discount code page has the current 10% offer.
