Best Leveling Addon for WoW Forever: Paid and Free Options Compared

The best leveling addon for WoW Forever depends on whether you will pay. For a finished, polished route, RestedXP is our pick: Forever routes for 1–35, a Dungeon Leveling Guide (restructured on 3 November, its dungeon list runs through Blackrock Depths, more dungeons after launch) and a one-time price. For free, Guidelime with the TUGs guide and BoostedXP are the most complete Forever routes we found, and Questie is the free quest helper almost everyone should run alongside any of them. WoW Forever launches on 4 November 2026, so every addon below is still adding Forever routes; the table shows what each developer says it covers today.

Coverage is what the developer claims; levels marked "announced" are not released. A longer bar is not the same as a better route. WoW Forever adds new zones, quests and races, and routes written for Classic miss them. Where a developer says its later levels are adapted from Classic or still drafts, we say so.

Paid leveling guides

RestedXP

RestedXP is a step-by-step route in a small window, with an arrow to every objective and optional automation that accepts and hands in quests. Its Forever Speedrun Guide covers 1–35 with routes written during the beta for both factions, and its Dungeon Leveling Guide, live since 17 October 2026, builds a 1–30 route around dungeon runs. Forever routes for 35–60 follow after launch; RestedXP's Era routes cover those levels until then.

Best for: players who want the most finished Forever route and level more than one character.

Zygor

Zygor's Forever guides are part of a Zygor Elite subscription ($15 a month or $40 a quarter on 2 November 2026), which also covers its Retail and Classic guides. At launch it lists new and updated Forever routes for 1–30, a Skyborne guide for 1–13 and four new dungeon guides, with Classic guides for 31–60 and updated Forever 30–60 guides "coming soon". Guides are downloaded through the Zygor Client app.

Best for: players who already have Zygor Elite, or who level in other versions too. See RestedXP vs Zygor for a full comparison.

Free RestedXP alternatives

These addons cost nothing. Their developers maintain them in their own time; several accept optional donations.

Guidelime with the TUGs guide

Guidelime is a free guide engine with an arrow, map pins and a built-in editor (/lime). On its own it has no routes; you add a guide pack. The best-known is TUGs, whose Forever file (GuideLime_TUGs_Forever.zip) was updated on 1 November 2026. TUGs says it covers all starting zones, that its 12–30 routes were written with beta access, and that 30–60 will be updated after release, with its Classic 30–60 route included meanwhile. It also has dungeon quest guides up to Dalaran.

Best for: players who want a long-standing free route and don't mind installing two addons.

BoostedXP

BoostedXP is a free, open-source (MIT) addon built for WoW Forever. Its page lists routes from every race's starting zone, including Skyborne, "planned and checked to level 30", with 30–60 drafts. It has an arrow, quest automation you can pause by holding Shift, flight path hints, optional dungeons and class quests. Type /boost in game; its website, boostedxp.com, adds data export.

Best for: a single free addon with a Forever route to 30. The 30–60 drafts are the developer's own description: expect them to change.

PexGuide

PexGuide offers free Forever routes for every race and class, including Skyborne, with arrows, mob tags, map points and optional auto-quests. It requires Questie. Its CurseForge file (0.5.0-forever, 14 October 2026) says 1–20; pexguide.com headlines 1–30 but lists 20–30 as coming soon, so we count it as 1–20 for now. It also has optional dungeon detours, an optional Windows app and an opt-in for anonymous data. Use /pex in game.

Best for: Questie users who want a free route for the opening levels.

Wowdee

Wowdee is a free, open-source all-in-one addon for WoW Forever, still marked alpha (0.36.1, 31 October 2026). Besides character tracking, journals, gear advice and auction tools, wowdee.com lists a free 1–60 leveling guide with an arrow and optional dungeons. The developer adds a fair warning: "Levels are the guide's plan, not a promise." The guide text is in English. Open it with /wowdee.

Best for: players who want one free addon for leveling and more, and accept alpha software.

4Ever Leveling

4Ever Leveling is a free addon with 1–60 routes adapted from Classic to Forever, an arrow, a dungeon atlas and best-in-slot lists. New race, class and Skyborne routes are in development. Auto accept and turn-in are off by default. Open it with /4ever; the developer accepts optional Ko-fi donations.

Best for: a free 1–60 route plus dungeon maps, if you don't mind that later levels follow Classic routes.

Questie

Questie is not a leveling route. It shows available quests, objectives and turn-ins on your map and minimap and lists them in a tracker; with TomTom it can also show an arrow. It is free and open-source (GPLv3), and its Forever version was updated on 26 October 2026. You decide where to go; Questie shows you what is there.

Addons that conflict with leveling arrows

Running two route addons at once gives you two arrows and two sets of steps; pick one. Some map and utility addons cause trouble too. RestedXP's own addon flags Leatrix Maps, TomTom, SilverDragon and TotemTimers as having "known incompatibilities with the Waypoint Arrow" and recommends disabling them if navigation misbehaves. It also warns that Narcissus can interfere with its proximity targeting. If an arrow points the wrong way or disappears, these are the first to check; see RestedXP not working.

If you use automatic quest accept or turn-in in two addons at once, such as Questie, Leatrix Plus and a route addon, turn it on in only one of them.

How to choose

1. Decide whether you will pay. If not, choose a free route and add Questie.
2. Check the levels you care about. Most players spend most time between 30 and 60, where every addon is still catching up.
3. Try before you commit. RestedXP's 1–20 routes are free, and so is every free option here. Spend an hour with two of them and keep the one whose steps you like reading.

Is there a free alternative to RestedXP for WoW Forever?

Is Questie a leveling guide?

No. Questie shows quests and objectives on your map but does not tell you which quest to do next. Pair it with a route addon if you want step-by-step directions.

Which free addon covers WoW Forever to level 60?

Wowdee and 4Ever Leveling list routes to 60. 4Ever's later levels are adapted from Classic, and Wowdee is alpha and says its levels are "the guide's plan, not a promise". Guidelime with TUGs and BoostedXP cover to 30 with Forever routes.

Can I use two leveling addons at the same time?

You can install several, but run only one route at a time. Two route addons give two arrows and conflicting steps, and two addons auto-accepting quests can fight each other.

Why does my leveling arrow point the wrong way?

Often another addon. RestedXP lists Leatrix Maps, TomTom, SilverDragon and TotemTimers as known conflicts with its waypoint arrow. Disable them and reload to test.

Is Zygor or RestedXP better for WoW Forever?
