How Long Does It Take to Level 1–60 in WoW Forever?

There was no measured 1–60 time for WoW Forever at launch, because the beta stopped at level 30. WoW Forever launches on 4 November 2026 at 3:00 p.m. PST (23:00 UTC), which is 5 November at midnight CET in Europe. What we do know: Blizzard kept the Classic XP curve, and beta players averaged 20.5 hours to reach level 20, against 20.4 hours in Classic Era. Planning estimates for the full 1–60 sit around 100–180 hours played. Those are estimates, not measurements. We'll replace them with real launch times as players reach 60.

This page shows where the hours go, level by level, how to estimate your own time, and which Forever-specific bonuses actually shorten it.

How RestedXP handles this: No route tool has a verified Forever time to 60 yet, and we will not guess one. What a route removes is planning and backtracking between quests. Its Forever routes cover 1–35 now (35–60 after launch), levels 1–20 are free, and our 10% discount link applies automatically. Our RestedXP review covers where it saves time and where it does not.

Where the hours go: XP by level bracket

Warcraft Tavern's XP table (4,084,700 XP in total) split into brackets:

BracketXP neededShare of 1–60
1–20167,200about 4%
20–30331,800about 8%
30–40655,400about 16%
40–501,151,700about 28%
50–601,778,600about 44%

Level 59 to 60 alone needs 209,800 XP, more than levels 1–20 combined. You pass the halfway point around level 48 (Bind on Forever). Our WoW Forever XP table lists the XP for every level from 1 to 60.

This doesn't mean level 50–60 takes eleven times as long as 1–20. Mobs and quests give far more XP at higher levels, so hours per level rise much more slowly than XP per level. But it does explain why a strong first evening says little about your 1–60 time.

How to estimate your own time

  1. Check your /played at level 20. Blizzard's beta average was 20.5 hours.
  2. Compare with that average. If you got there in 12 hours, you're on a planned-route pace; if it took 30, expect the upper end of the estimates.
  3. Plan your week, not your total. The table below turns played hours into calendar time. It's simple arithmetic on the estimates, not a prediction.
Hours played (estimate)2 h a day4 h a day8 h a day
100 hoursabout 7 weeksabout 3.5 weeksabout 2 weeks
140 hoursabout 10 weeksabout 5 weeksabout 2.5 weeks
180 hoursabout 13 weeksabout 6.5 weeksabout 3 weeks

What makes Forever faster (and what doesn't)

  • New XP buffs. Crafted food gives a small kill XP bonus (Blizzard confirmed; beta testing put it at 5%), the Cozy Sleeping Bag gives up to 3% more, and a Leatherworking camp tent tops up rested XP. Our camping guide covers camps.
  • Rested XP. It doubles kill XP and builds at 5% of a level per 8 hours in an inn or city, up to 1.5 levels (Warcraft Tavern).
  • Faster respawns in starting zones. Blizzard's November 2 notes sped up low-level respawns, fastest in starting zones and gradually slower as you level.
  • Dungeons. Kill XP in dungeons rose about 20% on 8 October, and party XP now depends on each player's own level. The October 1 build halved the extra XP from dungeon quests, so questing still matters.
  • Your mount at 40. Blizzard confirmed the mount comes with riding training; beta players reported 100 gold. Arriving at 40 without it costs you hours. See our gold guide.
  • Class. Hunters and Warlocks lead every beta-based tier list for solo speed. See the best leveling class.
  • What doesn't help: boosting by a much higher player. Since 8 October, nobody in the party gets XP if a member is far above the enemies' level.

Ways to land at the low end

The biggest savings come from not losing time, not from playing faster:

  • Follow a route instead of deciding each next step yourself.
  • Group when it helps. Our duo leveling guide explains when a partner saves time.
  • Keep spell ranks current, and drag new ranks to your bars (they're no longer added automatically since 2 November).
  • Don't die. A corpse run plus the rebuffing costs more than a slow pull.

Our fastest way to level guide covers all ten habits, and the WoW Forever leveling guide has the zone order.

When we'll update this page

The first real 1–60 times will come from launch players over the next days and weeks. Fast speedrun times say little about a normal player, so we'll look for averages, not records, and mark each figure with its source.

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to level 1–60 in WoW Forever?

No one had measured it at launch: the beta stopped at level 30, and WoW Forever launches on 4 November 2026 at 23:00 UTC (5 November at midnight CET in Europe). Blizzard said beta players averaged 20.5 hours to level 20, almost the same as Classic's 20.4. Planning estimates for 1–60 sit around 100–180 hours played, for example Mythic Store's 100–120 hours for a veteran on a planned route. Treat those as estimates.

Is leveling faster in WoW Forever than in Classic?

Not by much. Blizzard kept the Classic XP curve, and its own beta data put the average time to level 20 at 20.5 hours against 20.4 in Classic. Forever adds new XP buffs (crafted food, the Cozy Sleeping Bag, camp tents) and faster respawns in starting zones, so a planned route can be a little quicker.

How much XP do you need to reach level 60 in WoW Forever?

4,084,700 XP according to Warcraft Tavern's table, the same as Classic. Level 20 is only about 4% of that, level 40 about 28%, and you pass the halfway point around level 48. Levels 50–60 alone are about 44% of the total.

How many days does 1–60 take?

It depends on how much you play. At an estimated 120 hours played, two hours a day is about two months and four hours a day about a month. These are arithmetic on an estimate, not measurements; we'll update this page with real launch times.

What is the fastest way to cut leveling time?

Follow a route, log out in a rested area, use crafted food and camps, collect dungeon quests before you run a dungeon, save for your level 40 mount, and avoid deaths. Our fastest-way guide covers all ten habits.
