WoW Forever Addons: Questing, Maps and UI Setup
Compare WoW Forever addons for quests, leveling routes, maps, dungeons and UI, with setup commands, dependencies and developer downloads.
EnlargeQuestie is our starting recommendation for quest locations. Add OpenMap if you want a seamless world map, DungeonJournal for dungeon preparation, and RestedXP if you prefer following a written leveling route. The sections below explain what each addon changes, how to open it, and which features overlap.
This guide covers WoW Forever 1.60.1. Developer downloads and documentation were checked on 19 October 2026. The recommendations are editorial selections based on those sources; they are not a performance ranking from in-game testing.

Questie: quest locations and objectives
Best for: players who want quest markers while deciding their own leveling route.
Questie adds information about quest givers, objectives and turn-ins to your map. Its official release history lists 12.1.0 with QuestieDB 1.0.6, released on October 12, with changes specifically for Forever. Install the matching QuestieDB package as well as Questie; the database is a dependency, not an optional map theme.
Open Questie’s minimap menu to reach its options. Set the marker and tracker presentation before filling the map with every available icon. Pick up a nearby quest and compare its objective text with the displayed location. This gives you a useful baseline before you add a replacement map or quest tracker.
Forever quest data is still developing. A missing pin can mean missing database information or an unmet quest requirement. It does not establish that the quest was removed. Our Questie setup and missing-pins guide explains that distinction in more detail.
Download Questie and read the release notes.
RestedXP: a written leveling route
Best for: players who want the next pickup, objective and journey presented as a sequence of steps.
RestedXP supplies an in-game guide window and authored routes. Downloading the addon and gaining access to a paid guide are separate steps. The developer’s October 9 Forever update confirmed completed 1–35 guides at that date. Check the current product description for the coverage you need before buying; that dated update does not establish complete 1–60 coverage.
Choose a Forever guide for your faction and level. If you are joining a route after already questing in the zone, read its opening instructions and compare the required quests with your log. A guide step that assumes an earlier pickup can send you to an objective you cannot yet complete.
Use Questie alongside it for broader quest information if that helps you. Let RestedXP provide the sequence, and keep duplicate trackers or map icons to a readable minimum. See our RestedXP access and coverage guide for the distinction between the free addon and guide access, and the best leveling addon comparison for free route alternatives.
Map addons and the RestedXP arrow. RestedXP's own compatibility list (v4.11.29) flags Leatrix Maps, TomTom, SilverDragon and TotemTimers as having "known incompatibilities with the Waypoint Arrow" and recommends disabling them if you have navigation issues. If you follow RestedXP, leave those off or test them first; our RestedXP not working page has the other fixes.

OpenMap: a seamless world map
Best for: seeing neighboring zones and travel connections without repeatedly switching between separate maps.
OpenMap joins the zone maps into a continuous surface. You can zoom toward the cursor and pan across zone borders. It keeps the normal quest log beside the map, and its author documents Questie integration. The checked release is v0.5.0-beta-forever, dated October 17.
Open its menu on the world map or type /openmap. Search for a zone, city, dungeon or flight master; use the location button to return to your character. The addon also shows travel connections and dungeon entrances. Questie supplies the optional vendor, trainer and other NPC information.
Disable Leatrix Maps or another replacement world-map addon before using OpenMap. Its developer specifically warns about those conflicts. Pick OpenMap for continuous zoom and panning; choose Leatrix Maps if you prefer adjusting the conventional map window.
DungeonJournal: dungeon quests, maps and loot
Best for: gathering dungeon quests and looking up bosses before your group leaves town.
DungeonJournal collects dungeon quests, rewards, boss loot and maps in an in-game browser. The checked Forever package is 1.6.4, dated October 16. Open it with /dj.
Find quests before travelling
Choose the dungeon and open its quest list. Selecting a quest shows its location on the map, which helps you find pickups before committing to the journey. Read the quest requirements as well: appearing in the journal does not mean your character has met every prerequisite.
If you hide the minimap button, /dj minimap brings it back. The slash command remains a convenient way to open the journal without adding another permanent button.
Browse bosses and the dungeon map
- Open the journal with
/djand choose the dungeon. - Select a boss to inspect its loot panel.
- Open the map to relate that boss to the dungeon layout.
The author notes that Blizzard’s loot and quest rewards are changing and updates the addon’s data accordingly, so a listed reward is not proof that it is unchanged in the current game.
Leatrix Plus and Leatrix Maps
Best for: a familiar collection of individual interface options without replacing the entire UI.
Leatrix Plus: repairs and interface conveniences
Leatrix Plus opens with /ltp. Its checked Forever package is 1.60.20-forever, dated October 15. The options are modular and disabled by default, so the first useful step is opening the settings and choosing the specific changes you want.
For a leveling character, review merchant and quest-interaction options separately. Decide whether you want automatic repairs or sales, and whether you want to read dialogue before accepting or completing quests. If ForeverPlus or another addon already performs the same interaction, leave that function enabled in only one place.
Leatrix Maps: a configurable map window
Leatrix Maps opens with /ltm. The checked Forever release is 1.60.23, dated October 14. Its recent Forever changes address opening the map with the quest log and add a quest search box to the simple map frame. If you use RestedXP, note that RestedXP lists Leatrix Maps as a known conflict with its waypoint arrow.
It is the alternative here for players who want to adjust the map’s presentation while keeping a conventional zone-map workflow. After changing the layout, press your usual map key and confirm that you can still read the quest list and marker labels at your normal screen size. Use it as an alternative to OpenMap.
ForeverAuras: custom information displays
Best for: adding a particular icon, bar or text display that your existing interface does not provide.
ForeverAuras is a separate Forever-focused beta project derived from WeakAuras. Its checked release is 0.92.6, dated October 17. Open the editor with /fa or /foreverauras.
The New Aura panel offers different display types, including icons, progress bars, text and groups. Decide what information you want before choosing a type. An icon suits a compact indicator; a bar needs enough space for its changing value to remain readable. Give the display a recognizable name so you can find it again in the editor.
Set its load conditions and position, then observe it in the situation it is meant to cover. Forever’s addon API limits what a display can do, so an old WeakAuras import is not a guarantee of compatibility.
Fritzli’s Quest Tracker: a clearer objective list
Best for: players who want a different quest tracker rather than more world-map markers.
Fritzli’s Quest Tracker Forever adapts the Kaliel’s Tracker approach for Forever. Its project page lists 1.1.2, dated October 19. The author’s project page shows quest levels, zone headings, objective progress and a quest-item button in a compact vertical list.
The tracker’s filter menu is useful when a long log makes the current zone hard to find. Choose which quests you want displayed, then keep the tracker away from your party frames and action buttons. Leave enough vertical room for a quest with several objectives to expand.
Questie and Fritzli’s tracker address different parts of questing: Questie supplies quest information and map markers, while Fritzli changes the on-screen list. If both draw an objective tracker in your setup, choose one list to keep visible. You should be able to find your current objective without reading duplicate panels.
ForeverPlus: tooltips and everyday utilities
Best for: players who want several small conveniences managed in one settings window.
ForeverPlus opens with /fplus. The checked package is 0.9.2, dated October 13. It includes configurable tooltips, a movable information bar, merchant and quest options, and buff or consumable reminders. Named profiles let characters share a configuration while retaining their own profile choice.
Open Gameplay to review the individual modules. For a first setup, choose the merchant or display options you actually want, then leave the rest disabled until needed. Automatic quest completion stops when you must choose a reward. Holding Shift temporarily suspends the automatic modules, which lets you read a conversation or avoid an automatic interaction.
ForeverPlus overlaps with Leatrix Plus in several areas. If you use both, assign repairs, gray-item sales and quest automation to one addon.
Posty: mail and bank-alt convenience
Best for: sending materials to alts and handling a busy mailbox.
Posty Forever adapts Postal for Forever. Its contacts menu offers recent recipients, alts, friends and guild members from the Send Mail window. The inbox adds selection controls and bulk-opening tools.
Use the recipient menu when you regularly send items to the same character. Before sending, read the resolved recipient name and attached items. A remembered contact saves typing but does not establish that you selected the character you intended.
If you only need to choose one of your own alts, ForeverPlus already includes an alt-recipient button. Posty is the more focused choice when inbox handling and a broader contacts menu are the reason you want a mail addon.
Forever Quest Tint: highlight unfamiliar quests
Best for: noticing dialogue that the addon identifies as outside its original Classic quest list.
Forever Quest Tint adds color to quest dialogue to make potentially new Forever content easier to spot. The checked release is 0.6.2, dated October 18. Its gallery shows a teal gradient in the quest window.
Treat the tint as a prompt to read, rather than proof that every marked quest is entirely new. Its comparison depends on the project’s reference list. This is a small presentation addon: it does not replace Questie’s location information or RestedXP’s written route.
If another addon replaces the quest-dialogue window, confirm that the tint remains visible before adding more dialogue changes. Use the current game’s text for quest requirements and rewards.
Bags, auctions and combat addons
For inventory organization, Baganator has a Forever file and uses Syndicator as a dependency. Install both. Auctionator also lists a Forever package and is an option for auction-house tasks. Choose the Forever file on these multi-edition projects, rather than the first download shown for another client.
Combat addons need a more specific decision than a leveling list can provide. A boss-mod core having a Forever build does not prove that every new dungeon or raid encounter has timers. Likewise, an interface addon loading successfully does not prove every combat feature works under Forever’s API. Read the relevant module’s current notes before building a setup around it.
Install the setup in stages
- Install Questie and QuestieDB. Pick up a quest and locate its objective with your normal map and tracker.
- Choose one map addon. Use OpenMap for seamless zoom or Leatrix Maps for conventional map options (RestedXP users: RestedXP lists Leatrix Maps as an arrow conflict). Open and close the map before changing more settings.
- Add your route or dungeon reference. Set RestedXP to the correct guide, or use
/djto find the pickups for your planned dungeon. - Choose utility settings. Assign automatic repairs, sales and quest interactions to Leatrix Plus or ForeverPlus. Keep a note of the options enabled.
- Add specialist displays last. A custom aura, mail tool or tracker should address a specific part of your play. Remove duplicate panels rather than shrinking everything until it is unreadable.
For folder placement, follow the installation guide. If your options reset after restarting, use the addon settings troubleshooting guide. For planning the character itself, see our Forever leveling and Legacy overview.
