RestedXP gave its WoW Forever Dungeon Leveling Guide a new structure on 3 November 2026, the day before launch: each faction's dungeons are now split into mandatory, optional and upcoming, and the new Forever dungeons Ruins of Lordaeron, Excavation Site: Wetlands and City of Dalaran are in the mandatory list for both factions. The same update adds faster routing, including steps that leave the party for a graveyard teleport. The Dungeon Guide first went live on 17 October 2026. It is included with the RestedXP Forever guide at no extra cost, and its opening chapters, to about level 20–22, are free in the addon.

How we checked: on 3 November 2026 we read RestedXP's Forever guides patch notes of the same day and the v4.11.30 release of the addon (the WoW Forever file on CurseForge is dated 3 November). The 17 October release date comes from RestedXP's announcement to partners; we compared it with RestedXP's Forever page and roadmap Affiliate link and the addon's release notes. Earlier versions of this page listed the dungeons as RestedXP announced them on 17 October; the lists below replace them.

What the RestedXP Dungeon Guide is

RestedXP sells two leveling routes for WoW Forever in one product:

  • the Speedrun Guide, a questing route built for speed;
  • the Dungeon Leveling Guide, a route that adds dungeon runs at the levels where they pay off, with open-world questing in between.

The Dungeon Guide is not a boss-by-boss dungeon walkthrough. It is a full leveling route: it tells you which dungeon quests to collect before each run, when to queue or form a group, and where to go afterwards. RestedXP says it also handles class quests, hearthstone use and training trips, as the Speedrun Guide does.

What changed in the 3 November update

RestedXP's patch notes list these Dungeon Guide changes:

  • A new structure. Dungeons are now "mandatory", "optional" (you opt in) or "will be added shortly after launch", for both factions.
  • The new Forever dungeons. Ruins of Lordaeron, Excavation Site: Wetlands and City of Dalaran are in the mandatory list for Horde and Alliance; Alliance also runs the Hall of Thanes.
  • Faster dungeon routing. Horde gets steps to leave the party after a dungeon so the game teleports you to the nearest graveyard, where that is quicker. Alliance gets a step to die on purpose and run back into Ruins of Lordaeron, which RestedXP says is faster than running back from inside, and better routing for Night Elves arriving in Stormwind afterwards.
  • Horde quest fixes. Extra steps to abandon old dungeon quests, Desolace removed from the route, "Blueleaf Tubers" and "Chol'aruk the Ravener" now turned in, and a Stonetalon Mountains section for "Stepping Stones", "Scramble" and "Wet Job" (the Sleeping Bag quest chain).
  • Alliance fixes. The Druid Aquatic Form questline, the Night Elf Loch Modan section that wasn't loading, and Darkshore quests that weren't completing or turning in.

Across both guides, the update also adjusts the routes to the 40-quest log limit and fixes many quest steps that weren't being accepted, completed or turned in.

Source: RestedXP's patch notes of 3 November 2026, in the order RestedXP lists them. The notes don't give a level for each dungeon. RestedXP's roadmap Affiliate link, checked on 3 November, still lists Forever routes for levels 35–60 as coming after launch, so we don't state how far the Forever-specific dungeon route reaches today.

What changed since 17 October. RestedXP's first announcement covered levels 1–30 only and had no "upcoming" group. City of Dalaran is new in both factions' lists, and Excavation Site: Wetlands is now part of the Horde route too.

Where the free chapters place the first dungeons

The Dungeon Guide chapters bundled free with the addon (unchanged in v4.11.30) show where the first runs fall:

Free chapter (addon name)Level
Alliance: Hall of Thanes17–18 (16–17 for Night Elves)
Alliance: Ruins of Lordaeron18–19 (17–18 for Night Elves)
Alliance: Deadmines19–20
Horde: Ragefire Chasm16–17
Horde: Ruins of Lordaeron17–18
Horde: Wailing Caverns21–22

The levels for the later dungeons are in the paid part of the guide; we have not listed them because we could not check them in the public files. They also depend on the optional dungeons you choose.

How to pick optional dungeons

You choose the optional dungeons yourself. According to RestedXP:

  1. Select the Dungeon Guide as your route first.
  2. Open Options > AddOns > RestedXP Guides > Guide Routing > Dungeons.
  3. Tick the dungeons you want. The addon also has "Select Recommended Dungeons" and "Select all Dungeons" buttons.

RestedXP says a dedicated dungeon configurator is "coming later on". Until then, this settings page is the way to do it. To see which dungeons have the most quests for your faction before you tick them, check our dungeon quests guide.

Dungeon Guide or Speedrun Guide?

Both are included in the same purchase, and you can switch between them. If you level with a regular group, the Dungeon Guide keeps you in step while picking up the quests for each dungeon. If you play alone at odd hours, the Speedrun Guide avoids waiting for groups. Not sure which suits you? Our dungeons vs questing guide sums up Blizzard's XP changes and what they mean.

Dungeon timing in your own game will vary with your group, class and how quickly groups form; we have not published our own timings.

Getting the most out of the dungeon route

  • Collect the dungeon quests first. The route sends you to pick up each dungeon's quests before the run. Skipping them throws away much of the experience a dungeon is worth.
  • Share quests with your group. RestedXP has an "Automatic quest sharing" setting for party play; tell your group which quests you are on before you go in.
  • Decide on optional dungeons before you start. Set your selection in Guide Routing before you start, so the route you follow matches the dungeons you plan to run.
  • Keep group quests in mind. The "Show Group Quests" setting decides whether elite group quests stay in the route.
  • Have a fallback. If a group won't form, the route's questing steps keep you moving; you can also switch to the Speedrun Guide for a while, since both come with the same purchase.
  • Watch for addon conflicts. RestedXP lists Leatrix Maps, TomTom, SilverDragon and TotemTimers as known conflicts with its arrow. See RestedXP not working.

What happens after level 30

RestedXP's roadmap lists Forever routes for 35–60, for both the Speedrun and Dungeon guides, as the stage after the 4 November launch. Until then, RestedXP's Era routes cover the higher levels. We note each new release in our RestedXP update log.

RestedXP's 3 November dungeon list already runs to Blackrock Depths, with four new Forever dungeons to be added shortly after launch. The patch notes don't say which of the higher-level parts use new Forever routing yet. If the Dungeon Guide runs out of Forever steps before you do, one option is to switch to the Speedrun Guide, whose Forever routes run to 35.

How to get the Dungeon Guide

  1. Try the free chapters. Install RestedXP Guide from CurseForge (WoW Forever file) and choose the Dungeon Guide in the guide menu. The opening chapters run to about level 20 (Alliance) and 22 (Horde).
  2. Buy the Forever guide if you want the rest: $30 for one faction or $45 for both, one-time. Through our link Affiliate link the cart takes 10% off: $27 or $40.50. The Dungeon Guide is included at no extra cost.
  3. Import it. Add your Battle.net ID to your RestedXP account, export the guide from your downloads and paste it into the addon. Our install, import and use guide has every step. On launch day, RestedXP recommends logging in at account.restedxp.com and downloading from there, the quickest route when its site is busy.

If the Dungeon Guide doesn't appear after an import, see RestedXP guides missing; for arrow and step problems, see RestedXP not working. For the dungeons themselves, see our WoW Forever dungeons guide.

Frequently asked questions

Is the RestedXP Dungeon Guide out for WoW Forever?

Yes. RestedXP released the Forever Dungeon Leveling Guide on 17 October 2026 and gave it a new structure on 3 November, with mandatory, optional and upcoming dungeons for Horde and Alliance.

Is the RestedXP Dungeon Guide free?

Its opening chapters are bundled free with the addon, to about level 20–22. The full Dungeon Guide is part of the paid Forever guide, at no extra cost on top of it.

Which dungeons does the RestedXP Dungeon Guide use?

Since 3 November, both factions run Ruins of Lordaeron, Excavation Site: Wetlands and City of Dalaran as mandatory dungeons, with Alliance adding the Hall of Thanes. The full mandatory list runs to Blackrock Depths; Krol'dok Stronghold, Alcaz Prison, Blackmaw Hold and Shaper's Terrace are due shortly after launch. The tables on this page list each faction's mandatory and optional dungeons.

How do I choose optional dungeons in RestedXP?

Select the Dungeon Guide first, then open Options > AddOns > RestedXP Guides > Guide Routing > Dungeons and tick the dungeons you want. RestedXP says a dedicated configurator is coming later.

Does the RestedXP Dungeon Guide go to level 60?

Its 3 November dungeon list runs to Blackrock Depths, but RestedXP's roadmap still lists Forever 35–60 routes for the Dungeon and Speedrun guides as coming after launch, and the patch notes don't give level ranges.

Should I use the Dungeon Guide or the Speedrun Guide?

Use the Dungeon Guide if you level with a group, and the Speedrun Guide if you play solo. Both come with the same purchase.

Is the Dungeon Guide a walkthrough for each dungeon?

No. It is a leveling route that includes dungeon runs and their quests. For boss and layout information, use a dungeon guide such as ours for WoW Forever dungeons.
