Mount Hyjal in WoW Forever: Level, Entrance and Leveling Tips

Mount Hyjal in WoW Forever is the brand-new final leveling zone: levels 55–60, reached on foot from Winterspring through Darkwhisper Gorge, and home to two raids that open on 9 December 2026. Blizzard calls it the finale of the leveling journey. This guide covers what is confirmed, what the game client shows, what beta players found, and how to fit Hyjal into your last five levels.

What Blizzard has confirmed

Blizzard's launch article says Mount Hyjal "invites you to explore the aftermath of Archimonde's defeat, journey through Darkwhisper Gorge, and help shape the future of a recovering land." The Found Photos recap calls it a place players "have long known about or wanted to explore." Blizzard says you meet new factions and form alliances there.

The What's Next recap adds the raids: "Hyjal Summit will bring 20-player raid encounters", while the Barrow Deeps "is planned as a maximum-level 10-player challenge." On 9 December, level 60 players can enter Barrow Deeps, Hyjal Summit and Onyxia's Lair. The Legacy system has challenges for defeating "all 13 Hyjal Summit bosses" and "all 8 Barrow Deeps bosses."

Bind on Forever's summary of Blizzard's 19 October video adds the story. Malfurion and the druids sealed Hyjal for five years, and the road now opens for the first time since the Third War. You work with the Druids of the Talon and the Cenarion Circle, while old Horde and Alliance tensions rise again. One quest line follows a Curious Crow who has found warlocks working for the Wild King.

What level is Mount Hyjal?

55–60. Blizzard hasn't printed a level range. The game's Group Finder lists Hyjal at 55–60 (Bind on Forever). The enemies in WoW Forever DB's client data start at level 55 (Hyjal Owl, Hyjal Bear) and run to 60 (Blackthorne cultists and named NPCs). Felguard Sentinels are 58–59.

So Hyjal is a zone for your last five levels. Beta players who walked in far below that level were killed quickly.

How to get to Mount Hyjal

1. Get to Winterspring. Most players arrive from Felwood through Timbermaw Hold, as in Classic.
2. Learn the Everlook flight path. The zone's flight master at Tainted Foothills links to Everlook, so this is your way back in later.
3. Head past Everlook into Darkwhisper Gorge. In Classic the gorge ended at a wall with a gated portal. In Forever, beta players found the wall and gate gone and a tunnel leading into the forest (Bind on Forever). The gorge is full of high-level demons, so travel carefully.
4. Pick up the Tainted Foothills flight point, then Summit of Eternity, which links only to Tainted Foothills (WoW Forever DB).

If you die on the way in, you return at the Everlook graveyard, according to Bind on Forever's beta notes. Blizzard itself names Darkwhisper Gorge as part of the journey. The Warcraft Wiki entry also lists Winterspring, east through Darkwhisper Gorge, as the only adjacent zone.

Areas of Mount Hyjal

The client names nine areas, none with its own level: Tainted Foothills, Elderwild, Summit of Eternity, Shrine of Aviana, Malorne's Retreat, Mourning's Rest, Cradle of Tranquility, Dae'gun and Felblood Scar. From beta walk-throughs reported by Bind on Forever:

• Elderwild is the shared camp with its own graveyard. It was sparse in the beta and may grow as quests are done.
• The night elf village by the World Tree holds the Guardians of Hyjal reputation vendor and an Artisan tier recipe vendor. Archimonde's giant skeleton lies beside it.
• Mourning's Rest is a ruined Alliance site full of hard-hitting Scourge with fast gargoyles. Don't try to outrun them.
• Malorne's Retreat holds Deadwood furbolgs. The files also list the Barkskin Burrow furbolgs, who were untouched by the corruption.
• Shrine of Aviana has high-level harpies, a Druid of the Talon, and an NPC who gives Slow Fall for a quick way down the mountain.

Other reputations in the files: the Nightclaw Druids, Cenarion Scouts and Watchers. None of their rewards is confirmed yet.

Should you level in Mount Hyjal?

Plan it as your last zone, from about 55, but keep a backup:

• Why go: it has new quests and new reputations whose vendors matter at 60. You will need its flight paths for raid nights from 9 December anyway.
• Why not rely on it yet: the beta stopped at level 30, and the WoW Forever DB quest data holds no Hyjal quests yet. Nobody knows how many quests it has or how fast they are. Free addon routes such as Wowdee's don't include Hyjal yet. RestedXP's 35–60 routes arrive after launch.
• A safe plan: follow a Classic 55–60 route (Winterspring, the Plaguelands, Silithus). When you reach Everlook, pick up the Hyjal quests and see how dense they are. Then move in if they are good. Our Horde and Alliance leveling guides show where the late-50s zones fall.

Should I level in Hyjal or the Eastern Plaguelands?

Plan Hyjal as your last zone from about 55, once you have the Everlook flight path. It has new quests and reputations that matter at 60. But nobody has played it past the beta's level-30 cap, so keep a Classic route through Winterspring and the Plaguelands as a backup until quest density is known.
