Forever’s announced leveling journey runs from 1 to 60. Legacy adds another reason to explore, learn professions and complete challenges along the way. These are announced system rules checked on October 17, 2026; this is not a timed leveling route.

Unlock your first Legacy Point

You gain access to Legacy when you earn a point. Blizzard identifies reaching level 25 as the likely first unlock for many players. Reaching 150 skill in a non-gathering primary profession or exploring the entire world map are alternative ways to start. Open the Legacy interface through its shield icon or the default Y key once available.

Understand points and perks

Challenges award account-wide points for non-Hardcore characters. Each character chooses its own perks across Professions, Adventure and Resourcefulness. The announced launch spending cap is 16 points per character. You can keep earning challenges beyond that limit; earning points and spending them are different parts of progression.

Choose one character or several

Blizzard says alts are optional for unlocking character advantages. Level milestones at 25, 45 and 60 reward each class, but other activities also contribute. Choose the challenges that fit your plans rather than creating characters solely because you assume Legacy requires them.
