Judgement preserves your active Seal in Forever. Check that change before carrying over a combat routine that automatically reapplies it after every Judgement. Blizzard confirms the change in its Paladin deep dive. To see how the Paladin ranks for leveling against the other classes, read our best leveling class guide.

Since this page was written, Wowhead's October 30 class tuning report reworked several Paladin talents. Our Paladin leveling guide covers the changes that matter for leveling.

Scope: beta mechanics checked October 17, 2026. This guide covers training and pull decisions; a tested 1–60 talent order is outside its scope.

Your early training checkpoints

CheckpointWhat to look for
Level 6Train Holy Strike and read the current rank.
Level 10Review your first talent choices.
Level 20Train baseline Consecration.
Level 40, announcedDual Specialization is a later option.

These milestones come from Blizzard's October 15 Paladin deep dive. When visiting the trainer, check costs before buying or resetting anything. Keep your next attainable ability separate from a later build's capstone.

Change your Seal and Judgement habits

Check the active Seal before engaging, then watch what remains after your first Judgement. Build your routine from that result. Read Holy Strike's current mana cost alongside your other attacks before deciding which buttons to press in every fight.

If you regularly finish a pull nearly empty, inspect that spending first. Decide when you will recover before starting the next enemy. Preserve enough room in the plan to respond when another target joins.

Consecration deals less damage beyond four enemies

Consecration's announced design deals moderate damage to the first four enemies entering it and much lower damage beyond them. Paladin also retains limited ranged options and lacks an interrupt or movement slow. Blizzard describes these boundaries in the deep dive.

Choose the ground where you want the encounter to happen before casting. Avoid treating every additional enemy as equal value from the same Consecration. For a dungeon, agree the pull with the group rather than discovering its size after combat starts. Our Prot Paladin leveling guide covers pulls, talents and gear for a tanking Paladin.

Choose the next useful talent

Retribution offers movement and mana-management options; Sacred Arbiter links Holy Strike to refreshing Judgement effects. Seal twisting is not baseline: Blizzard's November 2 notes removed Twist of Light and made Unsealed Wrath, which stores copies of your Seal, the 31-point Retribution talent. See Blizzard's talent explanation.

Read the next effect and its prerequisites before spending points. Select a dungeon role explicitly, and prepare around that agreement. Our Forever dungeon grouping guide covers the ruleset and faction checks to make with friends before departure.
