WoW Forever is live. Servers opened at 23:00 UTC on 4 November 2026 (3:00 p.m. PST, midnight CET on 5 November), and Blizzard's Now Live article confirms the game is open. If you still can't get in, the usual causes on launch night were a short login queue, every ruleset grayed out until you cancel and requeue, a ruleset that had not come online yet, or — for Invite-a-Friend accounts — a restriction Blizzard hotfixed on the morning of 5 November. This page covers what happened, what the common errors mean, and where Blizzard posts status. We do not invent live queue numbers.

Last checked 5 November 2026 (Europe/Oslo morning). We don't show a live server status; we update this page with what Blizzard posts.

What about the Realm Status page? WoW Forever uses rulesets per region (Normal, PvP, Roleplay and Roleplay-PvP) instead of a list of realms. When we checked Blizzard's Realm Status page it did not list WoW Forever the way Classic and Retail realms do. Our rulesets guide explains how the rulesets work. Hardcore is still listed as coming sometime after launch.

Third-party status pages can show whether Blizzard's servers answer, but they can't see your account or ruleset. Treat them as a hint, not as confirmation.

Login queues

Players on Blizzard's forums reported short queues at open: some under a few hundred, some in the low thousands with waits of roughly five to nine minutes. A few reported much higher positions after reconnecting. Blizzard has not published official queue capacity or live counts, so we won't invent them. If your queue is moving, leave it running: closing the game gives up your place.

Grayed-out rulesets ("This ruleset is temporarily unavailable")

After the queue, many players saw all four rulesets grayed out for about the first half hour (US forum thread). The ruleset screen appears to check once when you get through; sitting on it often does nothing. The fix that worked for most people:

  1. Cancel / log out to the login screen.
  2. Log in again and wait through the queue.
  3. If one ruleset lights up and yours does not, wait a few minutes or try again — rulesets came online in waves.
  4. Do not reinstall or run Scan and Repair for this message alone.

Invite-a-Friend hotfix (5 November 2026)

Kaivax posted that a hotfix is live for players who joined with an Invite-a-Friend code and were unexpectedly restricted from some chat channels, leveling past 10, guilds, parties and trading. If that was you, log out and back into WoW Forever (official US forum post).

Blizzard Support's error articles require a Battle.net sign-in and are written for World of Warcraft in general, not Forever alone.

What to do if you can't log in

  1. Confirm the game is up. Read Blizzard's Now Live article and check @BlizzardCS / @BlizzardCSEU_EN and the Blizzard tracker. If Blizzard reports a problem, wait.
  2. Make sure you can play. WoW Forever needs an active subscription or Game Time (or a valid Invite-a-Friend launch window). Choose World of Warcraft: Forever in the Battle.net app. Our launch checklist covers access.
  3. If every ruleset is gray, cancel and requeue. Don't sit on the gray screen.
  4. Try another ruleset if one gives "no realms available".
  5. IaF restrictions? Log out and back in after the 5 November hotfix.
  6. Restart the game and Battle.net only if your queue is stuck or you are already disconnected.
  7. Rule out your connection and addons. Restart your router. For a quick addon test, start without addons; see RestedXP not working if the guide is the problem.
  8. Still stuck? Ask in Blizzard's Technical Support forum or open a ticket.

Don't reinstall during an outage, and don't trust "fixes" that ask for your Battle.net password or a download from outside Blizzard.

While you wait: use the queue time

A queue is a good time to plan your first hours:

Frequently asked questions

Is WoW Forever down right now?

We can't tell you live, and we don't guess. Blizzard's Now Live article confirms servers opened at launch. For current outages, check @BlizzardCS on X (Americas and Oceania), @BlizzardCSEU_EN (Europe), Blizzard Support on Bluesky, the Breaking News banner on Blizzard Support and the Blizzard tracker on the forums.

When did the WoW Forever servers open?

At 23:00 UTC on 4 November 2026: 3:00 p.m. PST, 11:00 p.m. in the UK and midnight CET (00:00 on 5 November) in Central Europe. Blizzard's Now Live article confirms the game is open.

Were there login queues for WoW Forever at launch?

Yes. Players on Blizzard's forums reported short queues at open, with some positions in the low thousands and waits of a few minutes. Blizzard has not published official queue numbers, and we don't invent live counts.

Why are all rulesets grayed out with 'This ruleset is temporarily unavailable'?

On launch night many players saw every ruleset grayed after the queue. The ruleset screen checks once when you get through; waiting on it often does nothing. Cancel, log out and requeue. Rulesets came online in waves over the first half hour.

Invite-a-Friend players can't chat, party, trade, join guilds or level past 10. Is that fixed?

Yes. Kaivax posted on 5 November 2026 that a hotfix is live for Invite-a-Friend players who were restricted from some chat channels, leveling past 10, guilds, parties and trading. Log out and back into WoW Forever.

What does 'No realms are currently available' (WOW51900309) mean?

It means a ruleset cannot be reached right now. At launch some rulesets came up before others. Try another ruleset, wait a few minutes, or cancel and requeue, and check Blizzard's support channels.

What does WOW51900319 mean?

You have been disconnected from the World of Warcraft servers. If Blizzard reports an outage, wait. If not, restart the game and your router and work through Blizzard Support's article for the error.

Should I reinstall WoW Forever if I can't log in?

Not first. If the servers are down or a ruleset is still coming online, nothing on your PC helps. Check Blizzard's channels first, then restart the game and Battle.net, and only then try Blizzard's own troubleshooting steps.
