RestedXP vs Journey, Joana and Guidelime for WoW Forever

RestedXP, Journey, Joana's Guides and Guidelime all aim at the same job in WoW Forever—an on-screen route—but they are not interchangeable. This page compares what each publisher states about free ranges, price, Forever coverage and dungeon help as of 5 November 2026. It does not claim a winner on hours-to-60: none of these sites publishes a controlled Forever timing study we can cite. For Zygor specifically, use our separate RestedXP vs Zygor page.

RestedXP: what is Ready vs Planned

From shop.restedxp.com/forever Affiliate link on 5 November 2026:

Roadmap stage	Shop mark	What it includes
Stage 1 Speedrun Guide	Done	Efficient open-world leveling; Forever routes 1–35
Stage 2 Dungeon Leveling Guide	Done	Questing mixed with dungeon runs; quest pickups before entries; restructured 3 November 2026
Stage 3 Launch & Beyond	Active	Forever 35–60 for Speedrun and Dungeon guides after launch; Era guides bridge until then; Discovery feature and Legacy Guide planned

That is the clearest official Ready / not-Ready split we can print. Do not treat Era 35–60 bridging as Forever-optimized routing. Track releases on our RestedXP update log and the product hub RestedXP for WoW Forever.

Journey: free 1–30, paid 1–60

Journey's support FAQ (checked 5 November 2026) states:

• Free addon; free levels 1–30; full 1–60 is a one-time purchase for the factions you buy.
• Levels 1–30 already include Forever's new quests and the Skyborne / Zephras Isle start and new race/class combos.
• After 30, the full guide starts on the proven classic route; Journey aims to add Forever quests and zones to 30–60 about a week after launch.
• Main route is open-world; dungeon quests are planned as an option, not required.
• Journey collaborates with TomCat's Gaming and builds on Joana's original routes with family permission; Joana's Guides remains independent.

Listed checkout prices on getjourney.gg product data on 5 November 2026: Alliance $25, Horde $25, Both $30. We are not quoting promotional end dates we cannot verify on Journey's own FAQ.

Joana's Guides: related, not identical

Joana's World (news through 26 October 2026):

• Forever addon beta available; Classic Era 1–60 guides can run in Forever.
• Lifetime Classic Era 1–60 purchases work in Forever as-is, with regular fixes.
• Content exclusive to Forever (new quests, zones, races, dungeon quest guides) will be a separate product; updated pricing TBD.
• Levels 1–30 free for Forever is still the published plan; 20–30 may move to the website while remaining free.

Treat Joana as the long-running Classic brand with a Forever transition in progress—not as a second copy of Journey.

Guidelime: free engine, community routes

Guidelime on CurseForge ships a Forever flavor and describes itself as a free Classic/Forever guide player with map pins, an arrow and an editor. Routes are separate modules. Examples with Forever files in late October / early November 2026 include TUGs (Alliance + Horde; author notes 12–30 written with beta access and 30–60 updated after release) and Sage (Alliance-focused). Expect pack quality to vary; there is no single “official” Guidelime Forever speed team.

How to choose without hype

You want…	Sensible first try
Longest free paid-addon trial	Journey 1–30
Free forever, community routes	Guidelime + a Forever pack
Forever Speedrun and a live Dungeon Leveling Guide in one purchase	RestedXP (our affiliate pick)
Already own Joana Classic lifetime	Keep Joana for Era bridge; watch Joana's Forever product pricing
Retail + Classic + Forever in one sub	See RestedXP vs Zygor

None of these options replaces judgment: overcrowded launch zones, deaths and skipped dungeon quests still cost more time than any arrow saves. For a broader addon shortlist see best leveling addon; for Questie map pins vs routes see RestedXP vs Questie.

Frequently asked questions

Is Journey free for WoW Forever?

The Journey addon is free, and levels 1–30 of its Forever guide are free for everyone (getjourney.gg support, checked 5 November 2026). Levels 1–20 install from CurseForge/Wago; 20–30 needs a free Journey account. Paid packs cover the rest of 1–60 for the factions you buy.

How much does Journey cost compared with RestedXP?

On 5 November 2026, Journey's site listed Forever Alliance or Horde at $25 and Both factions at $30 (one-time). RestedXP lists $30 one faction or $45 both; through our affiliate link that is $27 or $40.50. Both are one-time purchases, not subscriptions.

Is Guidelime free on WoW Forever?

Yes. Guidelime is a free engine on CurseForge with a Forever flavor. Routes come from separate free community packs (for example TUGs for both factions and Sage for Alliance). Quality and Forever coverage depend on the pack author, not on Guidelime itself.

Is Joana the same product as Journey?

No. Journey licenses addon technology from TomCat's Gaming (copyright holder of Joana's Guides) and builds Forever routes with permission from Joana's family. Joana's Guides remains a separate product. Joana's site (26 October 2026) says Forever-exclusive content will be a separate product with pricing still to be determined.

Does RestedXP have Forever routes past level 35?

Not yet. RestedXP's shop roadmap (checked 5 November 2026) marks Speedrun 1–35 and the Dungeon Leveling Guide as Done, and Stage 3 Launch & Beyond as Active: Forever routes for 35–60 after launch for both guides, with Era routes covering 35–60 until then.

Which leveling addon should I pick for WoW Forever?

If you want a maintained Forever Speedrun plus a live Dungeon Leveling Guide and will pay once, RestedXP is the product we affiliate for. If you want the longest free tier (1–30), try Journey first. If you want fully free community routes, try Guidelime with a Forever pack. Joana remains relevant for Classic-era purchasers moving into Forever with limits.
